MILAN – Wimbify is the application dedicated to LGBT tourism, where a real community of Lgbt travellers has the opportunity to interact, schedule a trip together and get in touch with local “gay-friendly” guides to transform their journey into an “Experience” that fully meets the needs of the LGBT community.

Wimbify through the free Social Travel Sharing application allows you to organize your own vacation, with a local guide, able of giving targeted directions and responding to the traveler’s curiosity, allowing you to experience a real local experience.

“We share travel experiences through a community of people who make their experience available through customizable tours to help travelers find the areas and neighborhoods of culture and movement dedicated to the LGBT target as easily as possible” comments Alessio Virgili, one of the founders of Wimbify and Italian Ambassador IGLTA – International Gay e Lesbian Travel Association.

With Wimbify you can find the perfect travel companion for your vacation. On the application you can publish your travel proposal and be contacted by other travelers willing to share the fun and the experience with you.

This new edition of the Wimbify app officially starts with the Local Hero guides project, a news for the city of Milan. With a completely different feature than the previous edition.

“We are looking for 300 lgbt guides in the Milan area, and we aim to attract 3000 LGBT travelers to the city. To become part of the local heroes team in Milan, just download the application and upload your tour proposal. Travelers will then get in touch to buy the desired experiencer”, says the Community Manager Gerardo Abate.

Wimbify also has two new advisors coming from Airbnb (Kati Schmidt – Strategic Partnership Manager, Global Policy and Public Affairs) and Expedia (Andrew Beckmann – Senior Manager, Strategy and Business Development) And has recently closed a major deal with Igp Decaux visible in the Milan subway area. Approximately 67 facilities, located in the most centrally located stations, will show a 5 sec promotional video for 7 days during the Pride Week.

In Milan during the Gay Pride Wimbify will be presented to the general public with a stand and promotional material in the district of Porta Venezia. There will also be a mascot who, with the clothes of the local hero, will distribute contest and games and let them be photographed with the hashtag #ShareWithPride.
